A Step Towards Success

Achieve Your Goals

My name is Eric Petersen and my work is to help you obtain your financial goals through financial planning.

You were likely referred to me by someone you respect and trust. You were referred not only because of their excitement for what I do, but also because they care about you and want you to experience the same advantages and benefits.

I love what I do and part of that is because I work with amazing people — people who trust themselves, people who have outstanding economic potential, people who make sound decisions based on facts, and people who are proactive and care about their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

It All Starts With A Plan

Many people are so busy today that they don’t take time to properly plan for tomorrow. That is why I use an effective system to define your investment, insurance, and financial planning goals with simple questions, which helps you to identify your specific priorities for the future.

My philosophy is based on an understanding that your financial situation, values, and aspirations are unique.

You deserve to have a tailored financial plan that will complement your individual goals. I believe a plan should be simple, even when the solutions may not be.

I also believe that knowledge is power: my goal is to educate and empower you to reach your goals. The more you learn, the better off you will be.

Most importantly, I want to help you make your life a little better than it is today. Little measures of improvement are not only less risky, but also create a compounding effect that can significantly benefit your future.

Only 20 Minutes Stand In The Way

The best way for us to start is to sit down for 20-30 minutes and in that time, I can show you what it is I can do for you. Once you see how I can help, you decide from there.

When we decide to move forward, I will gather more information and arrange another time to build a plan according to your priorities.

I will make some recommendations and provide you with the knowledge you need to confidently make a sound decision. It really is that simple.

Ask the Right Questions

We have gained so much knowledge in life by questioning everything. It is this natural curiosity to learn that compels us to move forward. And while I believe there is no such thing as a dumb question, I also believe that when it comes to your financial goals, asking the right questions are crucial to learning what you want to accomplish and achieving success.

The beauty in the financial plans I create are in their simplicity, and can be summarized by asking four basic, yet imperative questions:

  • Connector.Connector.

    Where are you today?

Before you can reach any destination, you need to identify your starting point. We begin by taking a financial inventory. Once we know where all the moving parts are, we are ready to take the next step.

  • Connector.Connector.

Where do you want to be?

This stage begins with determining your goals, dreams, and aspirations. I will ask you a series of questions to help you develop this part of the plan. This will likely change over the years to reflect the changes in your life.

  • Connector.Connector.

    What options are available?

Once we know where you are and where you want to be, we can start to focus in on a course of action designed to help you achieve your goals. I can now gather options that align with these goals and prepare a proposal for you.

  • Connector.Connector.

    Which options suit you best?

In a conversation driven by you, we narrow down which options suit you best. If you like something, great! If you don’t, then I can go back to the drawing board with new insight into what suits you best.

The answers to these questions help me build a detailed agenda for our meetings that is unique to your needs and will ultimately shape your financial plan, a plan you helped to create.

Financial Planning

There are many ways I can help you reach your financial goals, but before I get to the how and what, I want to be frank with you and discuss some of the not-so-pretty things that should be addressed.

Why? Because like an old gum ball, life is hard. There is no avoiding that.

I’m not here to sugar-coat reality and make it more palatable. Nor am I here to make you a lot of money. I’m here to provide you with opportunities that are consistent with your goals and risk tolerance.

I’m also here to be real with you: some investments fail, public stock markets are volatile, we get sick, and our loved ones have accidents.

But here is the good news. I can show you how not only to mitigate these issues, but also to add benefits and securities to your life through actions that are small, yet significantly measurable.

More often than not, it all comes down to transparency. Whatever plan I discuss with you, I want to make sure you understand the entire process. No surprises. I look at this as something we achieve together, side-by-side.
